Cake on the Go

Dark Chocolate Brownie Trifle with Strawberries and Raspberries

Last summer I had to make brownies for Latitude
and when it came out of the pan, it was a broken mess.
Instead of starting over again, I cut up the broken pieces, took out my glass bowl,
and began to layer away the trifle with whatever ingredients I had in my kitchen.
The result: a semi-schmancy dessert ;)
I think this trifle was made in 5 minutes. Yes. Just 5 minutes.
On the go? In a kitchen mess? My solution: a trifle.

Simple Trifle Recipe
sweet bread: poundcake / brownies / angel food cake, etc.
pudding: vanilla / chocolate, etc. made with dairy or non-dairy milk.
fruit: strawberries / bananas / raspberries / kiwis, etc.
cream: whip cream / coconut cream
garnish: nuts / cacao nibs / cocoa powder / cinnamon / granola etc.

Directions: Layer the ingredients from bread, pudding, fruit, cream, and then repeat! Garnish away. :)

A dessert that is easily veganized as well. :)

Have you had a trifle before?

  2. i remember that trifle!!! yummy!

my first time was freshman year in martha cook! triple berry trifle - pound cake splashed w/ rum, layered w/ strawberries, blueberries, raspberries (very red, white and blue...), pudding and cream were mixed together, then just cream for the top layer.
